An intimate evening of world-class classical piano, drinks, and dessert
You are invited to a private recital by the renowned classical pianist Sara Daneshpour in our home in New York City.
Following the recital will be a reception with the chance to meet and chat with Sara and each other over drinks and dessert.
Friday, September 16 — doors open at 7pm — recital starts 7:30pm — drinks and dessert reception with the pianist afterwards at our apartment near Broadway and 29th Street in Manhattan. For photos/videos of previous Lilacs events, see here.
We will be taking donations to support Sara. 100% of the proceeds will go to her. Please be generous!

About Sara
Pianist Sara Daneshpour has worldwide audiences and critics spellbound, establishing herself as one of the most refined artists of her generation. The Washington Post wrote of her performance “…she created transfixing poetry….” The Baltimore Sun stated “she delivered a powerhouse account of Tchaikovsky’s Concerto No.1 producing enough tone for two pianists in the process.” The Mercury News raved “…sensational. Strength, finesse, passion; it was all there.”
Sara is the top prizewinner of numerous major international piano competitions, including the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition, the Seoul International Music Competition, the ProLiance Energy Classical Fellowship Awards, the XII Concours International de Musique du Maroc, the William Kapell International Piano Competition, and the International Russian Music Piano Competition.
She has studied under the direction of the legendary late Leon Fleisher at the Curtis Institute of Music, Dr. Yoheved Kaplinsky at the Juilliard School, and Dr. Oleg Volkov. Her studies are continuing under Sergei Babayan at the Cleveland Institute of Music.

Selected etudes by Chopin and Ligeti, a program that combines two of the most intriguing and most demanding works ever written for the piano.
