Join us for a private recital by award-winning pianist Simon Bürki in a New York City home. Doors open at 7pm, recital starts at 7:30pm, followed by an optional drinks and dessert reception with the pianist until about 10:00pm. See photos/videos of previous Lilacs events here.

About Simon

Swiss pianist Simon Bürki is known for his expressive depth and refined technique. Born in St. Gallen, he began piano studies at age five with Rada Zagorskaya in Kiev, later working with Boris Fedorov and Farida Nurizade before continuing at The Juilliard School in New York under Sergei Babayan.

A laureate of the Horowitz, Liszt (Weimar), and Ricard Viñes competitions, Simon has performed with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra at Tonhalle Zürich and appeared at the Annecy Classic Festival under the patronage of Denis Matsuev.

He has given recitals throughout Switzerland, Germany, France, Spain, Russia, and Ukraine, and is especially admired for his interpretations of Schumann, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff, blending lyrical sensitivity with commanding virtuosity.
